Aadama Jaichomada is a Tamil comedy about the world of Cricket. It was released in 2014 by B & C Films. The film stars Karunakaran , Bobby Simha and Vijayalakshmi. With a running time of a little over two hours, it’s actually a bit short for a Tamil film, but its length makes it a lot more digestible for western audiences who are interested in brownlow medal odds. It was a bigger commercial than critical success, with praise focused on the performances of the lead actors and the quick pace of the film due to Badri’s tight directing.
The film stars Karunakaran, a Tamil film actor most well known for his character acting. He first made a name for himself with Soodhu Kavvum. This was his first feature length appearance. Since then, critical and commercial success has resulted in his appearance in six more upcoming movies, Jigarthanda, Nanbenda, Kanithan, Kappal, Mahabalipuram, Aadama Jaichomada and Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani. Previous successful films that he starred in include Yaamirukka Bayamey and Jigarthanda.
Bobby Simha Plays Karunakaran
Karunakaran is joined on screen by Bobby Simha, a previous co star in the 2012 film Pizza. This young star made his start in film with small a small appearance in Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi. His most critically praised performance came in 2014 when he played a gangster in Karthik Subbaraj‘s Jigarthanda. This performance won him the NFA award for Best Supporting Actor.

The director Badri is relatively new to film. He started in television with the series Malargal, but in 2007 directed his first feature, Veerappu. The Plot Of Aadama Jaichomada
The film introduces you to the character Dayalan, subtly played by Balaji. He plays a broker working between cricket players and the pundits placing wagers on cricket games. He makes a good living facilitating this corrupt practice. The film takes place during the start of the Indian Premier League cricket finals on Chennai. Dayalan is on the way to a meeting, two days before the start of the semi finals and ends up in a Taxi with Panneer, played by Karunakaran. He spends most of the day with Panneer as being on the move in the taxi keeps him one step ahead of the police. The two becomes friends as Panneer tells Dayalan how he is struggling with debt. So much so that he and his wife are currently separated.
The wife is playes by Vijayalakshmi. Sayalan takes pity on the kind hearted and good spirited Panneer and he promises to help Panneer with his debt problems. The two part on good terms but the next day, trouble hits the fan. Dayalan is found murdered the next day and the only suspect is the man who saw him last, Panneer. He find himself in a world of crime lords, mistaken identity and frequent encounters with the inept cops investigating the match fixing allegations that have been dogging the Indian Premier League. From here the film becomes a no holds barred, comedy fueled adventure that will keep you guessing.
